This policy explains what information Quizondo (“Quizondo”, “we”, “us”) collects when you visit quizondo.com (the “Site”), how it is used, who it is shared with and what choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain language. If something is unclear, write to us at contact@quizondo.com.
The short version
- You do not need an account to use Quizondo, and we do not ask you for personal details to take a quiz.
- Your quiz answers are processed in your browser. We do not store them on our servers in a way that identifies you.
- The Site is free because it shows ads. Advertising and analytics services use cookies and similar technologies, and where the law requires it they only run after you agree in our consent tool.
- You can change your cookie choices at any time and you can contact us to exercise your privacy rights.
Information we collect
Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it to reply, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
Technical information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our hosting provider, our content delivery network (Cloudflare) and our security software process technical data that your browser sends: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, the date and time, and the page that referred you. We use this to deliver the Site, keep it secure and fix problems.
Usage data. We use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used, for example which pages are popular, how people reach us and whether a quiz was started or finished. This data is collected through cookies or similar identifiers and reports are aggregated.
Advertising data. Our ad partners may collect and use identifiers (such as a cookie ID or mobile advertising ID), your IP address, approximate location and information about your browsing, to show and measure ads. See the advertising section below.
Quiz data in your browser. While you take a quiz, your progress is kept in your browser’s session storage so you can move between questions. It is cleared when you close the tab. Your answers and results are not sent to us as part of an account or profile.
How we use information
- To operate and secure the Site and keep it working across devices.
- To understand which quizzes and articles are useful, so we can improve them.
- To show advertising, which pays for the Site, and to measure how ads perform.
- To answer your messages and to meet legal obligations.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. The Site also uses local storage and similar technologies. We group them as follows. The exact list can change, and our consent tool always shows the current partners and lets you review your choices.
| Purpose | Examples | Who sets them | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | PHPSESSID | Quizondo | Until you close the browser |
| Security | __cf_bm | Cloudflare | About 30 minutes |
| Consent choices | euconsent-v2, FCCDCF, additional-consent | Our consent tool (Setupad) and Google Funding Choices | Up to about 13 months |
| Analytics | _ga, _ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Up to 2 years |
| Advertising | __gads, __gpi, __eoi, IDE | Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager | Up to about 13 months |
| Advertising partners | Identifiers such as _pubcid, _cc_id, connectId, panoramaId | Ad partners working with our ad manager | Varies by partner |
| Image saving | Pinterest cookies, when the script loads | Pinterest (Save button on images) | Set by Pinterest |
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with the privacy or cookie settings on the Site (look for the small settings icon, usually at the bottom of the page). You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the Site may then work less well. More detail is on our Cookie Policy page.
Advertising
Quizondo shows advertising from Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager and from advertising partners that work with our ad management company, Setupad. These companies use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, prevent fraud and measure results. Some of this advertising is personalized based on your browsing on this and other sites, and where the law requires consent it is only personalized if you agree.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can manage personalized ads at adssettings.google.com and read how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- You can opt out of many interest-based ads at aboutads.info/choices (US), youronlinechoices.com (EU and UK) and through your device settings.
- Opting out does not remove ads. It makes the ads you see less relevant to you.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4. Google processes the data on our behalf to provide us with reports and, according to Google, may also use it as described in its own privacy policy. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by declining analytics cookies in our consent tool.
Other services we use
- Cloudflare delivers the Site and protects it from attacks. It processes your IP address and request data.
- Google Fonts. Our pages load fonts from Google, which means your browser contacts Google servers and your IP address is visible to Google.
- Pinterest. On quiz and article pages we load Pinterest’s script so you can save images. Pinterest may receive technical data and use cookies. See Pinterest’s privacy policy.
- Social sharing. Our share buttons are ordinary links. Nothing is sent to Facebook, X, WhatsApp or Pinterest until you click one, and then their own policies apply.
- Security and backups. We use security and backup tools that log technical data such as IP addresses to detect abuse and restore the Site.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site (hosting, security, analytics, advertising and consent management), with advertising partners as described above, and with authorities where the law requires. If the Site is ever sold or reorganized, information may be transferred as part of that change.
We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. Under some US state laws, however, allowing advertising partners to collect identifiers for personalized advertising can count as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. You can opt out through the privacy settings on the Site.
Legal bases (EEA, UK and similar laws)
- Consent for analytics, personalized advertising and the related cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests in running a secure website, preventing fraud and abuse, understanding basic traffic and replying to messages.
- Legal obligation when we must keep or disclose information by law.
International transfers
Some of the companies named above, including Google and advertising partners, process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, they rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or participation in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep information
- Emails you send us: as long as needed to deal with your request and normally no longer than 24 months afterwards.
- Server and security logs: for the periods set by our hosting, Cloudflare and security providers.
- Cookies and identifiers: for the durations shown in the table above, unless you delete them sooner.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, receive a copy, and withdraw consent. If you are in the EEA or the UK you can also complain to your local data protection authority. Residents of California and some other US states can ask what personal information we collect, ask us to delete or correct it, and opt out of its sale or sharing, and we will not treat you worse for doing so.
To make a request, email contact@quizondo.com. We will reply within the time the law allows, normally within 30 days. Because we do not run accounts and keep very little data tied to your identity, we may need to ask for details that let us find it, and in many cases the information sits with an advertising or analytics partner, in which case we will point you to the right place. You can also use the consent tool on the Site to change your choices yourself.
Children
Quizondo is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
We use HTTPS, a content delivery and security network and other measures to protect the Site and the little data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Links to other websites
The Site contains links to other websites, including through ads. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Site or the law changes. We will post the new version on this page with a new date. If a change is significant we will make that clear on the Site.
