Someone renames the group chat. What do you rename it to?
What Kind of Group Chat Member Are You?
Here, in the blue glow of a phone screen at one in the morning, we observe one of nature's most complex social systems: the group chat. Seven members. One name nobody remembers choosing. A pinned message from March that nobody has read except the person who pinned it.
Watch closely. A meme appears. Within seconds, one member responds with a gif of a dancing raccoon, which is how this species shows affection. Somewhere in the shadows, another member has read everything and replied to nothing, as is tradition. A third is organizing a birthday dinner with the patience of a migrating goose. Then comes the call of the rarest creature of all, the six-minute voice note, recorded while walking past a construction site.
Every healthy chat needs all four. Without the organizer, nobody eats. Without the lurker, nobody listens. Without the meme dealer, everybody argues, and without the voice note, the group would never learn what happened at that grocery store.
So which role do you play when your phone buzzes? Answer fifteen honest questions about unread counts, birthday plans and dying batteries, and find out exactly where you sit in the food chain.
