A daemon's final settled form isn't chosen, it emerges from exactly who someone already is underneath, which means the shape it takes reveals something honest that words alone rarely manage to capture. Some settle into loyal, protective forms, fierce and steady, built around fiercely guarding the people they love above nearly everything else. Some settle into independent, clever forms, aloof and self-possessed, valuing real autonomy over easy, uncomplicated closeness. Some settle into free-spirited, restless forms, curious and searching, never content to stay anywhere for very long. And some settle into cunning, adaptable forms, resourceful and quick-witted, surviving through actual clever wit rather than raw strength.
