Manchester United's History
Manchester United Football Club is an English soccer club based in Manchester. The team plays in the top-flight league in England, the Premier League. It was founded in 1878 as Newton Heath LYR Football Club. However, it took more than 30 years for the team to move to Old Trafford, the stadium where the team plays its home games. It is worth mentioning that Old Trafford is the third-largest football stadium in Great Britain.
Manchester United is the most successful club in Great Britain. In 1968, the club under Matt Busby became the first English club to win the European Cup. The Red Devils won many other equally important titles, including:
- 20 times championship of England
- 12 FA Cup wins
- 5 EFL Cup wins
- 21 wins in the FA Community Shield
- 3 wins in the UEFA Champions League
Of course, these are not all the titles won by Manchester United. It is impossible to list them all because there are simply too many of them. However, those mentioned above are the most important.

Trivia
Few people know about it, but the Manchester United we know today would not exist. Newton Heath, because that was the name of Manchester United at the beginning of the twentieth century, struggled with financial problems, and everything indicated that it was in danger of bankruptcy. However, the team was rescued by local brewery owner John Henry Davies. Club anecdote has it in an unusual way, as a businessman found the missing dog of the then-team captain Harry Stafford. Davis decided to help the club, but one of his conditions was to rename the team. From such proposals as Manchester Central or Manchester Celtic, Manchester United was finally chosen as the club's new name.
The turning point in the history of the club was the arrival of Alex Ferguson and his thorough reconstruction of the team. At the very beginning, he said the famous words to the players, "you must realize that this is a football club, not an alcoholic club." The Scot's first years at United were difficult and did not bring any trophies, many fans were fed up with Ferguson, and there was more and more talk about his release. The turning point was winning the England Cup in 1990, after which Manchester United began to shine success after success: 13 Championship titles, 5 England Cups, 4 League Cups, 10 Community Shields, and 2 UEFA Championship League wins are the most important trophies won by the club under the leadership of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Manchester United's uniform is closely related to the colors of the club. However, in the 94/95 season, the convention and colors of the jerseys were slightly changed, creating away T-shirts with white and blue stripes that were almost identical to the ones that were worn by the Sheffield team at that time, as well as the third set of outfits in gray, which looked like pajamas. After all, the fans warmly welcomed the gray costumes, although they were associated with a relatively poor period of the United game.
